I grew up in Tacoma, Washington. My mother's family, the Harris's, were from Dresser, Wisconsin. My mother, her 5 brothers and sisters, and her mother, moved from Wisconsin to Washington in the mid-1930's after her dad, Albert Harris, died.

My dad's family, the Landry's, were from Saint Boniface, Manitoba, Canada. In 1920, when my Dad was just five years old, the family, which included 9 children at the time, moved to Washington.
