Bio

Growing up in the pineywoods of East Texas, I learned early to cherish forests and the wildlife they harbor. I attended Kilgore Junior College studying biology and physical sciences, then Texas A&M University for a B.S. in Wildlife Science (1970) and a M.S. in Forestry (1973). I worked 2 years for the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department and then 37 years for the U.S. Forest Service. My wife, Paula, and I lived all over the South in my Forest Service days, but today are retired in Hot Springs, Arkansas in the heart of the magnificent Ouachita Mountains. I love genealogy and especially appreciate the Find A Grave system and website and its contribution to making sure records of the deceased are permanently preserved digitally and available free of charge to the public.
