Bio

Kristin L. Schanz, b. 3/28/1986, Lancaster, Pennsylvania. I grew up in Mountville, Pennsylvania and graduated from Hempfield High School in 2004. I later graduated college from the Millersville University, 2008 with a B.A. degree in Art-Graphic Design. I worked in retail management through college up until 2021. I took a position at Penske Truck Leasing beginning August 2021 and I currently work here. I married my best friend (Aubrey) in August of 2019. We have two beautiful children together via IVF, Kyler and Kasen. Aubrey is a local photographer who began her own business shortly after we got married, Aubrey Schanz Photography, LLC.
I have enjoyed family ancestry since I was a little girl. I lost a brother, who was cremated, before I had a chance to even know him. Later in life, he was buried in the arms of my maternal grandfather. A few years later, I lost my maternal grandmother who was like a best friend to me. I began questioning our ancestry and researching as much as I could. In 2010, at the age of 23, I lost my father. At that moment I realized I never knew much about that side of my family. By volunteering to add photos, contributing information, or just making edits to memorials was a way to help me cope with my father's loss. I enjoy keeping families connected in hopes it helps others learn about their own family one day.
To those that manage memorials, I may ask for memorials that I have a connection to be transferred to me as I am passionate about connecting my family, as I mentioned, and managing our ancestors memorials. Hopefully you kindly understand!
If I manage family of yours I will definitely transfer them to you if you'd like!
