Bio

My father, Gene Shipp Campbell, was born in the Holler, Upper Hurricane, New Market, AL. My mother, Betty Faye Wynne, was born in Rash, Stevenson, AL. In the 1950s, they both followed brothers to the Chicago area to find work. They met In Illinois and married in 1957. They moved to Scottsboro, AL in 1974 and it is there I lived until I got married and moved to Huntsville, AL in 1986. I married Billy Dwayne Dawson, from Bridgeport, AL, and have two sons. I graduated from Scottsboro High School in. 1981 and then from the University of Alabama in Huntsville with a BSCS. I worked until June of 2002 when I stayed home to raise my kids.

I have been doing ancestry since January of 2016 when a good friend started my tree. The most amazing thing I have found is that I am a descendant of William Bradford and William Brewster both passengers of the Mayflower (joined GSMD in 2017). I have also joined the DAR through my Revolutionary War Ancestor, Jonathan Fitch. I have ancestors from Jamestowne, VA also but have yet to prove it and join the Jamestowne Society. I'm hopeful it will be possible to do so soon. Sadly, the Jamestowne Society doesn't seem to be as helpful as the DAR and GSMD.

At this point (2017) I am still in the addiction phase of genealogical research.
