Born in Salt Lake City in June of 1953 and moved with family to Boise in 1963. Lived on Burnett Drive near Boise for many years; now lives South of Meridian.

Retired as a captain in the Army of the United States and US Army in 2013. Enlisted as a Private in January of 1975, serving as a medic, physical therapy specialist, medical service corps officer and public affairs officer. Veteran of first Gulf War and U.S. involvement in Bosnia-Herzegovina, former Yugoslavian Republics.

Michael is married to the former Nancy May Faidley of Texas, and has five children and twelve grandchildren all living in SW Idaho.
