I'm especially interested in the Salem Evangelical United Brethren (EUB) Church near Paynesville Minnesota. This is the church I grew up attending and the church of my ancestors who are Wegners and Zabels. I'm using Find a Grave to crosscheck dates and names with the old handwritten records and obituaries from newspapers.com. The families from Salem were connected with families from the Zion Church, the Grove Church and Ebenezer Church as well as the 'First Church' in Paynesville all about a 15 miles radius from Salem. They stuck together and found their mates in one of the other churches. It was a tight knit community of Evangelicals.
