I have been a genealogy enthusiast for about 40 years. My initial goal was to be able to trace my ancestors back as far as I could. I soon learned that in order to trace my ancestors, I had to trace their in-laws, their siblings, their neighbors, etc. While working with some friends and distant cousins, I have managed to compile quite a hefty family file.
I joined Find A Grave in 2015, but due to some distractions in my life, I never really gave it a try until this year (2022), and I love it. I have been able to fill in some dates and burial places that I did not have, but I have also been able to share some of my information with others, connecting spouses, parents, and siblings.
I am grateful to the ones who came before me on Find A Grave to do the task of going to these cemeteries, taking photos, and contributing the memorials so that others, like me, can make the connections to put these people back with their families.
