Bio

By the age of 12, Shereen Renee had published her first Christmas poem in a local small town newspaper, the Columbus (GA) Ledger-Enquirer News, and was instantly smitten by the darling Ladywritingbug. By the age of 24, she submitted a handwritten letter of application to the Managing Editor and was hired as a part-time news clerk.

In the presence of Pulitzer Prize-winning investigative journalists and a hard-nosed Editor, she came into the paper as a full-time newswriter for the features department.

For the past 30 years, she has blogged, written articles and content for various websites, and has published several non-fiction books, including "The United States of Georgia," about Barack Obama's election in the deep south, and "In My Skin," a personal autobiography of her transition from a small town in Georgia to the heart of Atlanta as a young woman and mother.

Her life culminates, after 32 years working as a writer and retiring from corporate America as a real estate paralegal, in carrying on the legacy of the written word gifted to her as a child. As such, she has never ceased to be a daily student of life and exposit of all life has to offer.

Shereen Renee is the mother of four sons, eight grandchildren, and she invokes the spirit of "Harriet Tubman" to countless thousands of readers who often refer to her as one of the most hard-nosed social media activists and writers of modern times.
