Bio

There had always been a mimeographed copy of our family tree in the house when I was growing up. I looked at it from time to time but never really got beyond the fact that I had the same name as my ancestor (32343178) listed at the top of the page and that he came from England.

In my first semester of college I tried to use my psychology term paper as my english term paper; it was a "no go". I floated around different ideas and settled one writing my family's history - I figured somebody wrote most of it down already, I'll just fill some information and update the family tree. Then I read one of my great-grandmothers name: Rebecca Richmond Marsh Sanford (42159100) - I liked it so much I wanted to name our third child after her.

Her name would be the end point for my paper. I would write about my ancestors up to where the Sanford, Richmond, and the Marsh lines met. As I was writing the paper, I noted that all 3 lines were involved in the Revolution.

To investigate this further, I learned to use the Church of Latter Day Saints family history centers, local Historical Society's, and through my father (227895337) I had access to the Libraries of Cornell University, including the Kroch Rare and Manuscript Collections; there I held a land deed transfer signed by my ancestors in 1812. The research I did was adequate enough for an "A", but it only wet my appetite for more knowledge about my ancestors and their place in history.

Needless to say, I'm still writing that paper.

Please contact me if I can help you with any information on my family, as it may also be yours.
