Bio

When my mother died in 2008, she left a lot of genealogical notes, both hers and my grandmother Ward's. And there were a ton of photographs. My sister and I looked at the family photos and just shook our heads...."Who are all these people?" "What do we do with all this?" "Why didn't we ask Mama or Grandmother when they were alive?" I volunteered to take all of it home and see if I could sort through it.
I purchased a genealogy program and got to work. Back then there was a website, which will remain anonymous, that had lots of information on my ancestors; and me, not knowing how to do this properly, just kept pouring it all into my program. Pretty soon, I found I was descended from several royal families! But after a year, I could no longer afford the time to continue my search and dropped it.
Fast forward 10 years, I retired and had time to do my research correctly, backed up with at least one and usually more than one reliable source for each name, date or fact recorded. I bought the Legacy program and started from scratch.
Through these past few years I have become so well acquainted with some of my ancestors, often admiring them for their accomplishments and so wishing I could have met them.
I hope, through this website, to help my ancestors come alive for future generations.
