Bio

My name is Harold Calvin Franks, I go by Bryan, don't ask, lol.
I live in Victorville, Ca. Both side of my family came to Ca. from Missouri. My Mom's side in 1946, from the Springfield/ Walnut Grove/ Willard area. My Dads side from the Joplin/ Neosho area. Early ancestors can be traced to Kentucky and Tennessse.
I have always been interested in my family geneology. My maternal grandmother, Florence Elizabeth (McCall) Hays, talked frequently of our lineage. Later in her life when I was her caregiver; I sat and listened closely to her tales of the past. When she passed in 2007, at age 93, she left me her papers that included extensive research, as well as many very old pictures going back to the mid 1800's.
Even though I am presently caring for my ailing mother, I am determined to get our papers in order, fill in the missing information; Find a Grave, has been truly helpful, and complete a volume of books archiving the thousands of pictures and detailing what I have learned and that which has been documented by family. A task I am determined to complete.
Family names that I will be researching are: Franks, Frank, McCrea, Hays, McCall, Dodd, Sawyer, Overby, Miles.
So far my memorials a close family. I will transfer to another family member with a closer relationship, if they promise to enhance the memorial with addition information.
I hope to begin photographing markers one day. I am most interested in Pioneer Memorial Park in San Bernardino, Ca., as well at Mt View and Montecito in San Bernardino.
One day when my Mom no longer needs me, I will travel to
Missouri, to view the many memorials of family in the Springfield and Joplin.
