I am a direct descendant of Jonas Weed, born 1597 in England, came to North America (Plymouth Colony) in 1630 aboard the "Arbella"- flagship of the seven-ship "Bradford Fleet" so named because it brought the first "Royal" Governor of the newly chartered Massachusetts Bay Colony. Jonas Weed died in 1676 after leading his family and others to become a co-founder of Westerfield and Stamford, Connecticut. He is also a co-founder of the Colony of Connecticut. I am a member of the 11th generation in an unbroken line of Jonas Weed's descendants in North America.
