David M. Safford - Thomas-1-3-2-1-1-3-6-1-1-3-2-1

Lifelong history lover, and dedicated Safford family researcher since 2002. Direct patrilineal descendant of Thomas Safford (1599-1665/6) Feel free to contact me with any research questions, copies of family pictures/records you may own, or to assist with Biographical Sketches of our ancestors.

In 2002 I was in university and my grandmother asked me to stop by the library to review some records for her. Before long I was trying to trace all my lines back as far as I could.

I was stopped dead in my tracks by 1790-1820s New York and it's lack of records, so I turned to The Saffords In America by my sixth cousin five times removed Edward Stanley Safford.

I was deeply disappointed at first that my direct line is omitted... and nearly an afterthought with little mention of anything concrete. To this day I still have questions.

Rather than let that be the end of things I decided to revise Edward's work and over the years I have slowly been finalizing the Centennial revision of his records, including bio sketches, pictures where possible, and corrections where needed. All while preserving the information and spirit of the original. A digital copy will be free and widely available.

To the best of my knowledge and study, Thomas Safford of Ipswich would have been R-L51 which has roots in Northern Italy/Southern France. This single male ancestor likely lived approximately 6000 years before the present. This means, if you are a male Safford you likely share this group.

Virtual Cemetery for descendants of Thomas Safford of Ipswich 11/19/2020.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
When Dale Safford passed away in 2020 I took responsibility for a few of her Safford pages, and was transferred others by distant family or researchers that were kind enough to create/manage the memorials as long as they did.

I will do my best to keep the history and locations as accurate as possible.
