Bio

I guess I have a dedication to the connecting of graves because my dad's branch has been disconnected from the rest of the family.

My dad, James Edward Brantley, left the area in which he was born long before his brother, Gold. His brother George never left. Dad died first, a few years before grandmama and granddaddy, and decades before his brothers. Dad is buried where he died, in Hanover County, VA. Because of those things, dad has somewhat become the "forgotten Brantley" in Nash County, NC.

Yes, my uncle's name was "Gold". Lester Gold Brantley, Jr., to be exact. To my sister and I he was simply "Uncle Gold". My dear Uncle George was my favorite. A big man who, for some reason, called me "Hucklebuck" and my sister "Piano Legs". I miss him.

Because of divorce, I ended up separated from them. But they are my blood family and I mean to honor them and their memories by trying to contribute.
