Medically Retired / disabled CW4, with 23.5 years of Active Service in the U.S. Army, residing in the great Republic of Texas.

Became "seriously" interested in "all things historical" following Warrant Officer School, where we were required to write papers re: Civil War General Officers.

Since then, my time has become consumed with researching, writing, publishing, and lecturing (whenever possible). Whereas OTHERS devote / dedicate time to battles, leaders, tactics, logistics, etc., I focus on lesser-known facts (i.e.: events occurring on account of the needless, shameful aggressions of the Federal government, upon an agrarian society, or seemingly unimportant individuals - who worked behind the scenes, like all of my books [at my website] demonstrate).

Am married to a long-suffering bride of 30+ years, have two children (both grown), one of which still lives at home (trying to decide what he wants to do with his life), while another married a Yankee and resides in Virginia. She has given my wife and me two incredibly BRILLIANT grand-daughters - who unwittingly keep us on our toes (literally!).
