Bio

I have spent my life from the age of 16 yrs to date, military related. I worked as a Contract Officer at Fort George G. Meade in Maryland for over twenty years. Since retiring and moving back to Kentucky (where I was born and raised), I resumed my family research, canning, quilting, gardening and volunteer work with saving animals.

I am the proud Granny of three wonderful grandchildren and two outstanding children. My daughter became a nurse and works in the hospital in Elizabethtown, Ky. My son, is the crew Chief for the Presidents helicopter fleet and is stationed at Pax River Maryland Naval Base. He is retired Navy.

Since my return to Kentucky, I hosted the first Burkhead family reunion to be held in over twenty years. We have been getting together every year since.

The results of my research has been rewarding on many levels. I have been "dubed" the family historian and have been able to share documents with many other family members.

I like to try and keep as many memorials together in a father, mother and sibling line as I can. I find it helpful in doing so for fellow researchers.
