I like to say that I began my genealogical research at age 7, because I have a vivid memory of standing in our barn and asking my father who his parents were, and his grandparents, and the same questions regarding my mother. But I actually only began in earnest in 1970, when I traveled to Norwich, Ontario, to search out my Mott ancestry.
