I joined and became interested in findagrave website after my grandpa passed away. I wanted to visit his grave, but I lived too far away to visit in a day. I wanted to see his tombstone, so I searched online thinking since he was in the military that there would be records and possibly a picture. I wasn't able to find a picture, but what I found was so much better; a person added my grandpa (S/Sgt Julius Findley) to the website. It is so much better because I could add pictures and visit him, in a way, when I wanted to online. I have that option,as well as, my family. Also, a month later another relative passed away that lives even farther away, so I'm able to "visit" her too (through her findagrave online memorial).

It made me realize that I wouldn't be the only person that would be looking and hoping to find a piece of their loved one that has passed away, so I'm going to start adding people and fulfill people's photo request in my area that can't go as often as they would like to visit the grave.

If a relative wants me to delete a memorial or a photo I have added out of respect I would gladly delete it because I'm sure even though there are a lot of people that are like me and it gives a feeling of comfort and peace there are some people who do not want their loved one's information posted online and I respect their feelings. So, please just let me know either by messaging me or email. Also, if you are a relative I would gladly transfer the memorial of the loved one that I have posted on findagrave to you. My email address is [email protected] and in the subject line label it findagrave.
