I am a professional photographer and amateur historian. I live in Michigan in Washtenaw County, but often travel the Wayne, Branch and other surrounding counties to take photos of cemeteries. Cemeteries have always fascinated me, which is why my photography is focused on them. I love to visit the smaller, roadside cemeteries just has much and the larger historical cemeteries, sometimes more. The majority of the photos I take are not related to me, but hopefully my photos will help other people find the graves that they need.

My Photography Artist Statement:

When I visit a cemetery, I don't think of it as a place of sadness. I think of it as a peaceful place where we connect with out ancestor. I use the camera to capture those who came before us, to honor those no longer with us and to preserve the past.
