My mother had done some family research many years ago. I found it interesting, especially since the earliest ancestors she found came to America when the land was still British colonies. At least two of them served in the American Revolutionary War.

When Mom passed away at the age of 64 in 1994, I felt like I had lost a link to my family's past. I have been doing genealogy research off and on since then. It is frustrating at times, but very gratifying much more often.

I now live in Lexington, Kentucky. However I am not originally from here and have no relatives here that I know of, living or dead. So for now I am happy to head on down to the cemetery and help others with their research.

The Find A Grave website is great. Some people find it morbid to look at gravesites, but I look at each page as a memorial to a real person who is no longer with us on earth. (And the information is FREE.)
