Hello..I find so much history in the grave yards, and it saddens me that anyone should be forgotten. Particularly concerned with neglected graves of our soldiers...Keep the back seat full of flowers and cleaning equipment for servicemen whose markers are untended.
The dedication I've seen from other members of Find A Grave is truly remarkable, and heartening.
I began cleaning the gravestones of our soldiers in 2021. It is an honor to do so, and i hope anyone reading this will consider doing the same. So many graves are unreadable, and our lads and lasses deserve better. I use a solution that is the approved for our military cemeteries. You need to ask the caretaker or the city's permission before tackling the stones...Plenty of vids online to instruct on what to use, and what not to use. It's important not to damage stones. Most old graves could use some help!!!
Researching Blalock, O'Rear, Jenkins, White, McKennis, Coker, Veal, Benson, Morris, Standridge, Burney, Parker. For years I have sought my Great Grandmother's grave. She's so elusive!!! Rachel Ann "Annie" (O'Rear) Blalock...died sometime between 1893 and 1900 in northwest Arkansas or eastern Oklahoma.
I live 15 miles out of Fort Smith Arkansas. More genealogy finds...Please send any photo requests with in a 100 mile radius...And if you have an ancestor/soldier whose grave needs cleaning, please let me know. I also travel into Oklahoma. I work and travel for free! Happy to help!
