Bio

I grew up in the town my Mother was raised in, Robbinsville NC. My Dad, William Lewis Shook and my Mom were visiting in Banner Elk a short time where my father was raised and buried an infant daughter, Caroline Patricia Shook in Matney Liberty Cemetery in 1941. My father William Lewis Shook is buried in Bear Creek Cemetery in Robbinsville, NC.

My fathers parents Hilly Bynum Shook and Elsie Mae Davis Shook are buried in White Rock Baptist Cemetery. Also Aunts and a Uncle, wives, 2 great uncles are there at White Rock Baptist Cemetery.I am looking for my Dad's family and have found all but one sister's grave at this time in the area, Bea Shook Combs. One brother Jimmie Brack Shook passed away in 2008 in Melbourne, Fl.

My grandfather Hilly Bynum Shook had two brothers, Charles Frederick Shook and James Balum Shook. their parents, my great grandparents, David Monroe Shook and Judy Coffey. They also had several half siblings from Monroe's second marriage to Mary Berry.

David Monroe's parents , my great great grandparents were Frederick Shook and Myra Mary Pope. Frederick's father was George Shook, son of Johannes George and wife Mary, son of Johan George born in Germany and son of Johannes Georg born in Germany.
