Bio

I have been researching my Eastern European relatives and ancestors for a number of years.

Maternal Family:
Alexander John Nagy
Julia Nagy [Julia Kovach / Julia Kovacs]
Mihaly Kovacs [Michael Kovach]
Anna Kovacs [Anna Kovach / Anna Varhola]
Istvan Nagy [Steven Nagy]
Julia Vereczski

Researching my maternal grandfather's mother has been a bit challenging. The surname of Vereczski is difficult to find and has many spelling variations including Vereczkei, Vereczkey, Verecski, Vereckei, Vereckey, Verecki, Vereckis, Verecky, Vereczi, Veretzki, Veretzky, Bereczki, Bereczky, and more!

I found the surname of Veres and wondered if any of my great grandmother's relatives shortened their names to that?

Paternal Family:
Joseph Lesteshen nee Jozef Leszczyszyn
Anna Kendzierski
Americanized: Lesteshen and Lastition

Researching on FindaGrave for my father's family name has been very interesting. The variety of spellings from the original Ukrainian/Polish Leszczyszyn include Laszczyszyn, Leshchyshyn, Leschyshyn, Leczyszyn, Leszczynska, Leszczynski, Leschasin, Lestation, Leschyn.

My father used the Americanized spelling of Lesteshen as did I. Another popular variation is Lastition of which I knew many cousins by that name.

Researching my father's mother's surname of Kendzierski I see variations in the spelling to include Kendziera, Kendzierska, Kendziorski, Kedzierski, Jezierski, Niedzielski, Kolodziejski. I'm sure there are more!

I am a retired Marketing professional who worked in the corporate sector for most of my adult career. I love photography particularly and international travel - mostly European. I am a writer online with a couple of blogs and authored over 800 content pages on a popular site.
