If I have a memorial in Philadelphia that you desire to manage, please ask for it by using "suggest other edits".
I upload lists of graves from the cemetery records for completeness, to help other people find their ancestors, not because I want to "collect" them.

I often transcribe the gravestones I see on findagrave, especially if the inscription conveys important information, or the stone seems to be old.

We all know that weather takes a toll on Gravestones, some near me have become almost unreadable in a mere 15 year's time. Transcribing them completely helps preserve this for future generations who might look at a faded and unreadable tombstone and wonder what it once said.

I also will often list in the "Bio" section a list of the immediate family, including those who are not currently listed on Findagrave. I do this to help future viewers find and connect to a missing grandparent. Most of this information comes from the Mormon website "FamilySearch.org" which is similar to ancestry.com, but is free. You can browse the site and read about these people by using their identity code, some of them have truly amazing stories!

Like any of the genealogy sites, there are occasionally errors, so if you know of a correction... please let me know.

I often transcribe inscriptions to include translations from french/german/spanish/dutch into english. If you find an error in one of my translations, please drop me a note about it, thanks.

I will also occasionally list variants of the surname if I can determine the name's origin. As an example "Howiler" is often evolved from a German name "Hochweiler" and changed spelling when the family moved to USA. "Bowersock" is evolved from the German name "Bauersach". "Diamond" is sometimes evolved from the French "DuMont".

================== PLEASE NOTE======================
I have had problems with *certain* people disapproving edits which are transcriptions of the memorial engraving, with words such as "where is your proof ???", or "Family Trees are not acceptable!". Ironically, these same people have messaging turned off so nobody can reply (facepalm).

I would ask such people to look at the photo of the gravestone. The inscription is right there, and that is the proof that the inscription is correct! The "Inscription" field on Findagrave is SPECIFICALLY MEANT for a copy of the engraving/inscription.
