Bio

I am Thomas A. LaFountain an I live in Monroe, Michigan.
My search for ancestral roots began in 1984 after the death of my niece Aimee Faith LaFountain, who died in a accident, in Brazil. My brother Richard said as he was passing through the cemetery in a strange country he was struck by the stories that some of the tombstones told. He wondered if anyone walking through this same cemetery 100 years from now would know the who, where and why of a French name amidst all these Brazilian Portuguese tombstones.
In returning home to the states we began to wonder about our ancestors long buried and forgotten. Where did we come from? Where were they buried? How did they live? How did they die? In talking to our father about his parents and grandparents the search was on. Now 30 years later I am still searching.
I also believe that everyone has a history and I would like to enter a bio for people so that their memorial becomes more than just a name and date on a tombstone.
