As far as my own research, this is a fairly new interest. I am currently interviewing living relatives and reviewing and entering data in Ancestry.com, though I do not yet have an active account. I will activate it when I'm done entering base data. I am specifically interested in records associated with Matthews (Matthews Cemetary, Extension, Franklin, LA), Stephenson (Stephenson Cemetary, Mansfield, De Soto, LA), Sanders and Sebastian (NW area of Louisiana), Henderson and Smola (Central City area of Linn County, Iowa, particularly Mills Grove Cemetary)and Hulbert (Hawkeye area in Fayette County, Iowa).
