I try to trace the clan of the UMENSETTER and OMENSETTER back to the emigrants Johann Michael OMENSETTER and Johannes UMENSETTER. These two were brothers, came to America in 1751 with their families. The forefather was called HANNS HUMESEDTER and was born around 1640 in Steinakirchen am Forst in Austria. He emigrated to Germany around 1665, where he married into a miller's family.
All the surviving persons of these names in America are traceable to these two brothers.
