Bio
I grew up in the Missouri Ozarks, served a hitch in the Navy, then went to College. For most of the rest of my life, I was either in college or teaching in a college. I taught English for about half of my work-life and Teacher Education for the rest of it. Altogether, I spent 39 years teaching. I served a year as President of the Missouri Folklore Society, of which I have been a member since 1978, and have served 15 to 20 years on its Board of Directors, and for a number of years as its Book Review Editor and currently as General Editor of the Missouri Folklore Society Journal.
