Bio

I've been researching my family history since the early '80s -- way before I had access to the internet. Back then I would spend hours in the public library only to glean one small piece of info. I can find more now online in 10 minutes than I could in days back then but I still love to tromp through old cemeteries and courthouses.
Most of my family is traced back to Southern Illinois in the early 1800s and the state of Virginia, prior to that. The names are Williams, Reynolds, Biggs, Harrelson, Hudgins, Compton, Awalt, McReynolds -- to name a few.
I've also taken several of the online genealogy courses thru the National Genealogical Society, which I find quite helpful.
When I'm not researching family history, I'm painting!
