If I have recently created a memorial from Oaklawn and it does not have a photo attached, please know that I do have the photo and will be adding it shortly. After I take the photos I look up the names from the headstone before I create a new memorial. I have found several memorials for headstones I have photographed. Many are hard to find and take several different searches to locate. This takes time but I do not want to create a duplicate. If I find an existing memorial without photos, I will add my photos to that memorial.

Once I've gone through all the names and removed the ones with existing memorials, I do a "Quick Submit" and enter all the names and dates from the remaining headstones at once. Then I like to add the photos as I'm researching the obituary and additional information on the person. I spend HOURS looking up obituaries, censuses, death records, etc.

I primarily use the following sites:
Baldwin-Fairchild Obituaries
GenealogyBank
Ancestry.com

I work very hard at being as accurate and detailed as possible. However, this can be difficult since I do not know the majority of the people I'm creating memorials for. I always welcome additions and corrections.

I feel that the management of a memorial should be by a family member whenever possible. I'm not creating these memorials for myself, I'm creating them to help the other members of the family. I do not claim "ownership" over any memorial I've made outside of my family members. If I have created a memorial for your family member and you would like to manage that memorial, please contact me with your request for transfer.

If I have taken any volunteer photos for you, or if I have posted headstone photos on any memorial, you have my permission to use the photo(s) as you see fit.
