My hobby is family history which I discovered in the early 1970s, researching surnames as Scott, Shindler, Reasor, Ferrell, Shult or Schultz, Carter, Mahurin, Lucas, Nicholson. These names were largely families from the earliest settlements in Kentucky and the earliest families who settled in Floyd, Clark, Harrison, Washington Counties of Southern Indiana. The Southern Indiana folks bought land from Jeffersonville, Indiana Land Office.
