Bio

After I took an early retirement in 2009, I returned to my genealogy research that I began in 1979. Most of my immediate ancestors are buried in Grant County, Arkansas. Almost all of my Mother's side of the family are buried in Orion Cemetery, founded in 1860, located in north Grant County. Over the years, family members have volunteered in the maintenance of the books that list the graves in Orion Cemetery. Being familiar with spreadsheets, I knew that we could manage the 2000 gravesites with a spreadsheet showing grave locations along with the names and dates on the gravestones. I found that two of my family members had the same idea of using a spreadsheet. The three of us worked together to create the Orion Cemetery Book printed in 2011. The book was purchased and then used to populate Find a Grave. In 2009, I was elected by the Orion Cemetery Association to be the Historian.
