Nik is Mountain Bred and was raised mostly in Deer Lodge, Montana. Shortly after the death of his parents, Nik joined the Marine Corps on his seventeenth birthday in 1968. He served four years in the USMC, then two years as a missionary in Colombia, South America. Nik married Rosalie Koyle in 1976 and is the proud father of five daughters, three sons, and 24 wonderful grandchildren ...and still counting. Nik attended Ricks College in Idaho and BYU in Provo where he earned an undergraduate degree in Accounting and subsequently a Master's degree in Business Administration/Accounting from UOP. Nik is currently a retired police officer, firefighter, and accountant, and currently spends the bulk of his retirement researching and writing family history.
