Bio

I am a single mother to twins that are almost 16 years old. I began researching my family history in 1997 before they were born. I used to travel to various cemeteries and take photos (on real film) of every headstone that had my ex-husband's family names. (Yes, it could get expensive with surnames like Baker...LOL) In any case, once we divorced, I needed something to do in my free time when the kids were visiting their dad. I took up genealogy again. At this time, I realized I was in a great position to be able to fulfill photo requests for other people. I live in a rural area of Alabama, and small cemeteries are everywhere! I love driving through the country to look for the headstones and I know that it is appreciated. I, myself, am not from this area and have had to request photos for my ancestors in North Carolina and Florida. I want to make someone feel just as good as I do when I get to see a photo of an ancestor's resting place....and it is so much easier (and cheaper!) to do now than it used to be with the technology we have today. I feel great when I can help a person connect with a loved one.
