I was born and raised in Des Moines, IA. My parents were Ernest Edward Van Zandt and LaVerna Bernice Johnston. I am married to Terry Russell Brennan and have 3 grown children and 6 grandchildren.

I also have 3 sisters, two in IA and one in AZ.
I have been researching my families since I was 18 and right out of high school. I love it. I retired last December and enjoying having time to spend on research everyday.
