Bio

A native of Charlotte, North Carolina, Jason L. Harpe received his undergraduate degree in History and Master's degree in Public History from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. For nearly sixteen years, Harpe has been the Executive Director of Lincoln County Historical Association and Lincoln County Museum of History in Lincolnton, North Carolina. He has authored and edited publications such as Images of America: Lincoln County, Images of America: Lincoln County Revisited, Images of America: Lincolnton - From the Collection of Clyde C. "Baby Ray" Cornwell, Images of Sports: Lincoln County, In Our Own Words: The Story of Lincoln County, Two Centuries of Potters: A Catawba Valley Tradition, and Valley Ablaze: Pottery Tradition in Catawba Valley. In 2008, Harpe started Harpe Consulting, L.L.C., which specializes in cultural resources consulting services from cemetery conservation, research, writing and publishing to the development interpretive exhibits and educational programming using traditional means as well as new media. Harpe Consulting also conducts institutional assessments and collections assessments for museums and historic sites. In addition to one-time projects, Harpe Consulting builds organizations through grant writing and fundraising, long-range planning, and event planning and implementation.
