Born November 5, 1942, in Bastrop, LA, and lived first seven years in Mer Rouge, Morehouse Parish, LA. Moved to MS in 1950 with moves to Morton, Jackson, Ecru, Pontotoc, Rolling Fork, Tupelo, Madison and Tylertown. Graduated from Murrah High in Jackson, BS in chemistry from MS College, attended graduate school at LSU and obtained MCJ from University of MS. Worked in Medical school research lab, Chevron Oil Palenology lab, and for 28 years as a forensic scientist.

Married Claude Ard in 1964 and have two daughters and a son and two granddaughters and two grandsons.
