My Grandma came from an Indiana orphanage to be a servant for the Seale family of Palo Alto. She married and settled in Palo Alto where she and her husband worked at the Palo Alto Laundry. Her daughter, my mother, graduated from Paly High and became a telephone switchboard operator for Ma Bell downtown. She married my dad after WWII and they stayed on in Palo Alto. We shopped at Frank's on El Camino and Fran's on Lytton. Now I bike all over Stanford and Palo Alto. The best time to ride is during the Holidays, when the houses are decorated with lights. I wish I could be a contributor, but our graveyard is privately owned and one is supposed to get permission to take photographs.
