I was born and raised in Calgary, Alberta; My wife Diane comes from Golden, British Columbia. We were married in Golden in 1960, and during the following years became the proud parents of three children (Sammy, now deceased, Derek and Suzanne) and then five grandchildren (Rachel, Sherry, Carly, William and Jonah).

I enjoy reflection on the process of Christian formation, biblical and historical studies, civil society and our family history. Since 1998 I have been documenting the history of our extended family on this continent. Various ancestral lines trace back to Massachusetts, Rhode Island, the Cotswolds in England, Ontario and Manitoba, Germany, Northern Ireland, Southern Ireland and Sweden.

This research discovered that our Aylesworth-line descends from two Mayflower Pilgrim Families: James Chilton and his wife, and Francis Cooke and his wife. Other key early ancestors, who settled in Rhode Island, include Mr and Mrs Chad Browne, Mr. and Mrs. Obadiah Holmes, and Arthur Aylworth and his wife Mary Brown. Arthur was the first member of our Aylworth/Aylsworth/Aylesworth family to immigrate to this continent.
