My family line stretches far and wide (last names all with southern roots - MS/LA) are: Burton, Wilson, Hughes, Reese, Lea, Montgomey - all from LA & Carter, Webb, Cato, McClure, Watson, Taylor, Commodore, Gayles, Gales, Burton all with MS roots. Some surnames are very unique and do not exist in the MS Delta anymore. If you have relatives in Washington County, Neshoba County, Carroll County, Quitman County, Claiborne County, Leake County, Copiah County, and/or Sharkey County, Mississippi in the 1900s, chances are our kinfolks might have crossed paths.
