I have been interested in family history as long as I remember. I am so thankful my mother, Hazel Holmes Snider, tried to document as much as she could on both her family and Daddy's (Avie Arvil Snider) family. I have been able to join DAR and UDC through my ancestors and know there are others who served in the American Revolution, the War of 1812, and in the Confederacy. I enjoy sharing my findings with anyone who is interested. I was the Smith County, Texas Elections Administrator and retired in 2007. I have a degree in history from UT Austin and UT Tyler. I am from Hawkins, Wood County, Texas and have lived in Tyler, Smith County, Texas since 1980.
