Bio

I have 5 generations of paternal ancestors that lived in Jackson County, Iowa. The earliest of these was born in 1815 in Germany and was listed in the 1850 U.S. census as a resident of Tete des Morts. Some of the names I am related to include: Ploeger, Koester (later changed to Custer), Martin, and Veach. The 1st 3 families originated from Prussia/Austria/Germany. I have been unable to determine the country of origin for my Veach relatives, except that they came to America prior to the end of the 18th century.
I also am a 13th generation American on my mother's side, these relatives having emigrated from southern England. These relations eventually ended up in Adair County, Iowa. These relations are named Speed, Lovely, and Evans.
I am a nurse who grew up in San Antonio, Texas, and now lives in Norfolk, VA with my husband Robert.
