Bio

I am a wife, mother, and grandmother born and raised in the South. I started playing around with genealogy several years ago in the mid 1990's. I enjoy researching and finding my ancestors all over the place from Scotland to North Carolina through Georgia down to North Florida. A lot of my people traveled down the Hawthorne Trail by wagon train from North Carolina and South Carolina and settled in a place that was first called The North Carolina Settlement in South Georgia and is now called Calvary. I find it interesting that the cemetery in Calvary is called Piedmont Cemetery. I feel sure that it must have been named after the Piedmont Region they traveled through as they made their way to the North Carolina Settlement.
