I am the Grandson of Melvin Ray Wertz, Born Cass Co. Mo. b 05/18/1890 d 11/04/1980, Texas Co. Mo. My Great Grandfather is Valentine Marion Wertz b 01/19/1855 or 6 Bedford County PA d 01/19/1919 Putnam Co. Mo. Valentine Marion is a son of Zachriah Wertz, born 1825, Bedford County, PA d. 1873 Wilson Co., KS. Zachariah is a son of Nicholas Wertz born in 1783, Bedford County, PA, War of 1812 pensioner died 1876, he is the youngest son and last child of George Hedrick Wertz who was born in Germany (Upper Paltinate Oberfalsz - possibly near Regensberg)born approximately 1725-30. Nicholas is the youngest brother of Paul Wertz b 1857, Revolutionary War Veteran. I am a 7th Generation direct descendant of George Hedrick Wertz.
I was born Dec. 7, 1946 in Wichita, KS. USAF Vietnam Veteran Combat DAV, Retired USN 1991. Presently reside in Olympia, WA. Married, with one son Randall Scott Wertz, born 03/19/1980 in Honolulu, HI he is married with two children Alexandria Noell b 05/14/2005 and Cameron Tyler b 09/03/2008 both of my grandchildren were born in Olympia, WA.
