Spent 28 years in the United States Navy. Ten years of service was spent as a Hospital Corpsman and spent 5 weeks at Camp Johnson for Fleet Marine Force Training. Was designated a Radiation Specialist after obtaining my MS degree. During my tour I was awarded the Meritorious Service Medal, 4 Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medals, 4 Navy and Marine Corps Achievements, plus other service medals and ribbons. Qualified in submarines while onboard the USS James Monroe (SSBN 622). After retirement, I was accepted into a PhD program at University of South Florida where I graduated in 2011 with a PhD in Public Health.
