Bio

My great-grandmother, on my father's side, Mary Ann French (no birth or death record), married Dr. Clifford Hugins (no birth or death record). Dr. Hugins was the only son of Almon and Louise (Wheelok) Hugins. I have records for the French family of Jeremiah and Laura French, with the Bible originally belonging to (with their names on the front cover) Isaac and Mary (Beardsley) French. They had 8 children, 4 girls, 3 sons, and an unknown, with 1 son dying at the age of 12. This means that my grandmother is from the line of either Rev. George J. French, or Charles E. French, and hopefully not the unknown, which is not verified that they had 8, but is stated in an obituary. I have no record of another child in my Bible.

Dr. Clifford and Mary Ann (French) Hugins had 3 daughters that I have document of, Amy Louise, Lettie L., and Helen Iola (Hugins) Martin, who is my grandmother, who married Frank Martin after divorcing my grandfather, Herbert M. Chase Jr., who died in Tucson, AZ. Helen and Frank Martin are buried in Illinois.

My great-grandfather, Herbert M. Chase Sr. married Harriet, I have no last name, or information previous to their names. I have no birth record of my grandfather either. My father was Herbert M. Chase III.

On my mother's side of the family, the Strbak family, spelled Starbuck or Sterbuck in English, I have traced my grandparents, Martin Strbak Sr. and Mary (Matzko) to Strba, Czechoslovakia. Mary had a sister named Anna. Martin and Mary had 8 childre, Paul J., Martin Jr., John, Michael, Mary(or Marie), Sue, Anna (or Ann), and my mother, Irene E., born in Boyceville/Wheeler, Wisc.
