Bio

I was born in Sweeden, Kentucky, the son of Stanford M. Ray and Dorothy Lee Kinser, grandson of Charles W. Ray, Letha Ann Poteet Ray, Lee McLain Kinser, and Dora Dee Vincent Kinser.

I was a professor of business at Morehead State University, Western Kentucky, and Ball State University (Muncie, Indiana) before retiring to North Carolina in 2001. Since 2001, I have renewed an interest in genealogy (originally inspired by Oren Webb's Kentucky History class at Kyrock High School). Realizing that grave markers are an excellent source of facts about people, I have joined FindAGrave.com and volunteer to photograph graves in my current location.

My wife, Linda Louise Walsh Ray, my parents and grandparents and many other ancestors are buried in the Sweeden Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery. Others are at Poplar Springs Cemetery, New Liberty Cemetery, Temple Hill Cemetery, and others throughout Edmonson County.
