Born Roger Ward Neff in April, 1944 in Lincoln, Nebraska. My birth father, Ward L. Neff, whom I never met, was killed during WWII. My mother remarried to Edward J. Hirsch and I was adopted as Roger Ward Hirsch in 1957. I attended Lincoln, Nebraska public schools, and graduated from Lincoln Southeast High School I attended the University of Nebraska and obtained B.A. and J.D. degrees in 1966 and 1969. I have been in government and corporate law for most of my professional life, but I am now completely retired. I married Jan in 1967, and we have one daughter, a son-in-law and a grandson. We resided in Wahoo, Nebraska in 1967-68 and Arlington, Virginia during 1979-84, otherwise we have lived in Lincoln. I am an active birder, cyclist, photographer and traveler.
