I was raised in Montgomery County NC, Onvil, Thickety Creek and have lived here all my life except two years away in the US Army, most of that in Fort Devens Mass. I married Teresa Dawkins from Candor, 7 miles away, in 1971, still married with two children and four grandchildren. I have been involved in genealogy research for around twenty years. My main interests are Haywood, Blake, Yarbrough, Jenkins, Greene, Poole, Dawkins, Parsons, Lamonds, Thompson and whatever else pops up. There are a lot of cemeteries in Montgomery County, some not yet posted and I hope I can post them on find-a-grave as I find them so it will help others find their ancestors.
