I am the daughter of the late Cora Belle(Purdy)Hudson, and am the granddaughter of the late Rev. Thomas Purdy & Gertrude(Dolin)Purdy. My mother's family had lived at Uptons Creek, Spurlocksville, in Lincoln Co., WV. Many of my maternal family members are buried at the Singing Branch Cemetery in Palermo, WV. and other cemeteries throughout Lincoln Co. As a child we would visit my grandparents during the summer. I had always loved those visits and have many fond memories of those visits. In Nov 2016, I went back to the Singing Branch Cemetery to spread a small amount of my mother's cremains between her mom & dad's grave. I think that she would of been happy to have part of her placed in the family cemetery. In May of 2017, I made my last trip to Lincoln county, leaving behind so many wonderful childhood memories.

UPDATE: Due to a strange turn of evens, my visit to Lincoln Co in 2017 wasn't my last trip here after all. In May 2018, my husband and I moved from our home in Ohio to Alkol, WV.
